Welcome to my Back Pain Cause wiki, where you will find helpful articles, information and tips on back pain causes, back pain symptoms, natural remedies and treatment, and information on back pain medicine and back pain products. Being a prior chronic back pain sufferer myself, I'm very familiar with how frustrating and debilitating it can be. I started my back pain blog to help myself and others learn how to treat back pain effectively, and what options are available including what you can do yourself to reduce or eliminate your back pain.
To begin, I'll give you a brief overview of various types of back pain, back pain symptoms and causes, and treatment options.
Back Pain Cause
- sprained or strained muscle, ligament or tendon
- a fall or accident
- over-use or over-exertion
- moving or lifting awkwardly
- using muscles unaccustomed to the activity
- disc damage
- hormonal changes such as pregnancy, menstruation and menopause
- pinched nerve
- sciatica
There are many causes of back pain as there are many symptoms. Back pain symptoms are the pain, tingling or discomfort you have from things such as a fall, sports injury, car accident, lifting, things like that. Some of the most common back pain symptoms can include:

- muscle spasms
- muscular back pain
- referred back pain (pain referred from back to other part of body)
- chest back pain
- stomach back pain
- back of neck pain
- lower back and leg pain
- burning back pain
- sudden back pain
- chronic back pain (lasting three months or longer)
- acute back pain (severe back pain)
Treating Lower Back Pain
You also have many options in treating lower back pain, some of which I'll outline below:
- Fire and Ice method, which is heat and ice
- Topical analgesic creams, rubs, ointments and wellness oils
- Back pain exercises, muscle stretching exercises and back strengthening exercises
- Therapies such as massage therapy, magnetic therapy, inversion therapy, chiropractic care, physical therapy
- Alternative therapies and techniques including breathing therapy, music therapy and several others which I won't detail here due to space, but you can find them at my informational blog
- Back pain medicine such as Ibuprophen, Motrin, Aleve, Advil, Motrin, etc.
- Back pain products which can include back supports and braces, massage therapy products, magnetic therapy, TENS system, inversion products, ergonomic products, mobility and travel aids, etc.
There are many options available to you. The trick is first figuring out what your back pain cause is. Try to determine when it started, what you were doing before that time, what's helped if anything, and did it help temporarily? Once you know the cause of your back pain, you'll be better able to find the right back pain solution for you.
